The Sacrament of Confirmation

Dear Parents and Youth,

The Sacraments of Initiation were instituted by Christ to open for us the way to salvation and to lead us in the life of grace. We need the grace of this sacrament to support us in carrying out our baptismal vocations not only to live the faith but to witness to it. The Sacrament of Confirmation is important. Confirmation allows the young Church to advance in their faith, but also impacts their families and the entire community of believers. It allows the gifts of faithful service of those confirmed to contribute to the building up of the Kingdom of God.

The Archdiocesan guideline for the Sacrament of Confirmation states that at “regular intervals persons between the ages of 13-18 should be invited to participate in a process of Confirmation to all youth from the eighth grade to the senior year. In preparation to receive the sacrament, there will be six gatherings.  These gatherings will take place after the Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass at Prince of Peace Church. The parish pastoral staff and youth ministry will lead these gatherings.

After family discernment and reflection, if your daughter or son would like to present themselves to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please fill out and return the enclosed registration form no later than October 1, 2021. Parents, youth to be confirmed, and if at all possible, their sponsors should attend the first session on October 31, 2021 after the 10:00 a.m. Mass at Prince of Peace Church.

May God Bless You!
