Ivy Tech Pathway Programs
Shawe partners with Ivy Tech to offer opportunities for students to attend Ivy Tech part of the school day and Shawe part of the day during the junior and/or senior years. Students who complete a pathway programs will earn a Technical Certificate (30 college credits) and their Shawe high school diploma by the end of their senior year of high school. The Medical Assisting program is completed during the senior year & summer after senior year. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course is completed in one semester during junior or senior year (5 credit hour course). Upon completion of these programs, students will be ready for employment in their related fields or may continue with education/training.
Currently, the cost of the programs are covered by Shawe tuition. However, this is determined each Spring by the School Commission. Participating students are asked to apply for funding through the state called Career Scholarship Accounts (CSA) with guidance from the Dean of Studies.
